The much dreaded D word. Disease. Hand, foot, mouth. There were a number of episodes in school which E escaped unscathed from. A few scares. But this time round, it's bull's eye.
Someone in his class had it last week but displayed the symptoms only on Friday night. Which meant the virus had free reign in school for a substantial period of time since incubation period was 3 to 5 days. His favourite playmate got it this Monday.
I assume favourite means lots of contact (saw him giving lots of hugs to this particular friend when hubby and I were at his school for an event). And inevitably, he had a sudden onset of high fever (39 degrees) on Monday night.
Next came the painful mouth sores and the rashes. Thank God the rashes don't itch. That'll be a double whammy!
We have been stuck at home for the past week. 1 cranky and bored 5 year old, 1 cranky and bored baby (she usually gets to go out). Oh and not forgetting the cranky and bored mama!
So here's what we did.
